Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Caris Etail handles information when you create a shop, use the POS, or contact us. Last updated: 6 August 2026.
Who we are
Caris Etail is a retail software service operated from Tema, Ghana. Contact: carisetail@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We collect information needed to run your shop account, including:
- Shop profile details (name, contact, branding)
- Owner and staff accounts (name, email, role)
- Product catalog, stock, customers, and sales records you enter
- Billing and subscription status via our payment provider (Paystack)
- Support messages you send through the contact form
- Basic technical logs (for security, uptime, and abuse prevention)
How we use information
We use shop and personal data to:
- Provide POS, inventory, staff, reports, and billing features
- Authenticate users and enforce shop isolation
- Process subscription renewals and send transactional email
- Respond to support requests and improve reliability
- Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents
Payments
Card and Mobile Money payments for subscriptions are processed by Paystack. We do not store full card numbers on Caris Etail servers. Paystack's own privacy terms apply to payment data they process.
Offline POS data
The POS may store catalog and pending sales on the device (for example in the browser) so cashiers can sell without internet. When the device reconnects, sales sync to your shop account. Anyone with access to that device can see locally cached shop data until it is cleared.
Sharing
We do not sell your shop data. We share information only with processors needed to run the service (for example hosting, email, and Paystack), when required by law, or with your instruction.
Retention and security
We keep account and sales data while your shop is active and as needed for legal, billing, and security purposes. We use access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS in production), and tenant isolation to protect shop data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Your choices
Shop owners can update account and shop settings in the admin dashboard. To request account closure or a data export, email carisetail@gmail.com. We may retain limited records required for billing disputes, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
